Best tricks and how to do them on your Polaris snowmobiles

One of the best things about Polaris snowmobiles is that they are great sleds to do astounding sled tricks. They are built to withstand the toughest of challenges and the most complicated tricks. Take the Polaris Assault RMK as a fine example. It will get you where you want to go and how you want to go there. It is highly maneuverable and it has power to meet eve the roughest demands.

Tricks to do on your Polaris snowmobiles:

•    Jump – this would be the basic trick to master before attempting any other tricks.
o    Have a ramp that is of good angle. For beginners it s easier to start with a low angle. the bigger the angle the higher your jump will be
o    Make your start point a good distance from the ramp to make sure you build enough momentum before reaching the incline
o    Determine the speed you should be at. This will take some practice. The speed you need to reach will depend on the slope and the height you want to reach. Be careful in calculating this; too fast and you will do a nose dive, too slow will not make you jump on the ramp
o    Once you reach lift of take your feet off the running board. You do this to prevent injury when landing and also to remove unnecessary weight on the snowmobile that can cause imbalance
o    The ideal lift will put you in a position almost horizontal but having the back part slightly lower than the front
o    Give it gas to lift the front part
o    Tap the break to level the front part

•    Landing from a jump – after you achieve your first lift you will need to land intact
o    Once you leave the ramp make sure you are aware of your acceleration. You will feel gravity right after leaving the ramp
o    Maintain a good horizontal position
o    Give a bit of gas if you start to dive
o    Tap the break if the front is too high
o    Make sure the snowmobile is leveled when it is about to reach the ground
o    Hold onto the handlebars to maintain control when you land
o    Practice makes perfect

•    Front flip – this is the 360 degree turn of your machine forward oriented. You will need a lot of practice with jumps and you need to have a feel of the Polaris snowmobiles even before attempting this.
o    You will need a perfect lift off from the ramp
o    Lift your feet off the running board
o    Hold on the handle bars firmly
o    Lean your body towards the front in such a way it throws the snowmobile forward
o    The momentum should allow you to do a full front flip
o    Level your sled
o    Land
o    *****easier said than done. A lot of practice and experience is required

•    Back flip – make sure you have mastered the jump and land before trying this or any other extreme tricks. Once you get the hang of how your snowmobile reacts to certain pressure this is the only time you should try this
o    Achieve a perfect lift off
o    Remove your feet from the running board
o    Lean back to flip the sled so than you are up-side-down
o    Arch your body and guide the machine to complete the 360 degrees
o    Orient your snowmobile in a horizontal position
o    Land safely

Before attempting any of these tricks make sure you have the right equipment. Polaris snowmobiles made for extreme sports are lighter and sleeker than normal sleds. Proper safety equipment like helmets and full body pads should also be worn. Ask a professional for lessons and tips before trying any of these tricks.
