Bombardier Powersports
Bombardier is a very well known manufacturer of powersports. They make ATVs, jet skis and snowmobiles. Bombardier does more than just design their products though, they innovate! The company created one of the first snowmobiles and watercrafts. On top of that, they also created the first ATV that was made for two riders. In fact, in the late 1990s the Bombardier Company put out the first ATV that came equipped with the TTI rear suspension, making this the most comfortable ATV yet due to the placement of the two independent pivot points.

Even today the company continues to improve its products and find new ways to improve their powersport machines through the latest technologies. The Bombardier Company wants to keep their products known as top of the line and they want their customers to be happy with the quality of the products. This is part of the reason why Bombardier makes sure all their powersport products are environmentally friendly.

A good example of one of the Bombardiers most environmentally friendly products is the Sea-Doo. This watercraft is about 85% cleaner than the original EPA standards required. Not only is the Sea-Doo environmentally friendly, but it is also one of the quietest watercrafts available. The comfortability, reliability and quietness make the Sea-Doo one of the most popular watercrafts today.

The Ski-Doo has a very unique story of its own. Originally, the Ski-Doo was named Ski-Dog. The snowmobile was actually designed to replace the dog sled for hunters and trappers. The snowmobiles were also used in rural Quebec to take children to school, carry freight, deliver mail, and they were also used as ambulances. The first snowmobiles were very large, multi-passenger vehicles, but over the years the body style changed; the wooden body was replaced with a sheet steel.

The Ski-Doo continued to change and improve. In the early 1950s the snowmobile was now powered by Chrysler; the engine was a six cylinder and the snowmobile had a three speed standard transmission. The creator of the Bombardier Company, J.A. Bombardier, had always dreamed of a snowmobile that could carry two riders, that was fast and light weight. This dream went on hold while he created the ATV, but by the end of the 1950s, after the ATVs went on sale, Armand began working on his dream snowmobile. With the help of his oldest son, Germain, the Bombardier snowmobile was created and went on sale in 1959.

In 1969 the rectangular windows were introduced for the snowmobile, this allowed more light and gave a roomier appearance. The engine was also switched to the new Chrysler Industrial 318 in the early 1970s, which had an automatic Loadflite transmission.

Even today the ATV, snowmobiles and watercraft products all continue to change with technology. The Bombardier Company still strives to keep all their customers happy and provide them with powersports that are very reliable.
